Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

Sorry, I've probably mis-interpretted your posting but I personally am accepting the hiccups and the guinea pig status of being in the first batch of sign-ups and being very philosophical about the whole thing, I thought that's what my posting demonstrated. - when it happens it happens.

      And as if by magic....

Just this minute had a courtesy call from Sky saying that the provisioning of my line has been delayed and that I'll receive a call in the next five days with a new activation date.

      @ spcdust

This ties in with the delays we were told about with BT getting off their backsides and sorting the transfers over.

At least Sky are communicating and letting you know, although its a pain in the bum to be delayed

You have, I was refering to those posters, on other boards, who are calling the whole process a shambles as they have not recieved their code before their friend or neighbour. I think to date other than the odd salesman trying their luck on the whole do I need ti have wireless question. The staff have coped well and been very upfront about their lack of knowledge. I personally would rather be put on hold while someone asks a question than be lied to or missinformed.
I think considering the scale of the operation they have performed very well to date.
Sorry if you thought I was having a poke at you. I think the attitude off posters on this board is really good. Honest accounts and critisism in perspective.

No need to apologise, I thought it might be a case of me interpreting your posting in-correctly.

I have to agree, compared to Demon, my current supposed "reputable" ISP, Sky have been pretty good. Also the postings on this forum do seem fairly balanced and level headed - those on other forums calling the whole roll out shambolic only need to look at the Talk Talk roll out for the true definition of the word - at least Sky answer the phone and call you back.

and that is the way we want it to stay, at the end of the day, we want a community that is:

      1) Helpful

      2) Friendly

      3) Resourceful

and so far all the members we have are spot on

We dont want to be heavy handed or constantly editing posts, we believe self moderation should prevail

we must remember that Sky is new to this so they are on a big learning curve and there customer support have always been friendly and try to answer questions when they can, i just hope they don't go down the same route as some ISP's and try to cover up stuff as this damages trust more then anything (like another well known ISP who shall remain nameless),
i feel if an ISP is upfront and admit there faults then people appreciate that more and moan less
