I think i posted my previous in the wrong section.
after switching its been in the 600 kb/s area, but yesterday those speeds shot right up, but now the speed is back to 600's again.
my stats are at present:
ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 6112 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 15.5 db 24.0 db
Noise Margin 5.1 db 20.0 db
Thanks i look forward to your ideas.
I'm on Connect and the line was activated about a week ago.

Hi - welcome to the site.
If you are on Connect (your profile says Base - please change it) and were connected a week ago then you are still in your 10 day "training period". During this time the exchange equipment is testing your connection to deternine the best achievable, stable speed. As a result your speeds will vary whilst this testing is taking place.
