      Sky Broadband WiFi but no internet

      Hi,

      Apologies if this is in the wrong forum and someone else has already answered this question. I have looked through historic threads but may have missed it.

      I have the sky q home broadband hub and regularly have problems where I have WiFi but no internet. I normally see an error on my phone which suggests it is failing to find an IP address.

      Router statistics below:

      The current setup is default settings with sky q box connected with an ethernet connection but WiFi still enabled.
      On WiFi, one Amazon fire stick (soon to be connected via ethernet), Epson printer (only on when needed), two phones and an iPad.
      Also have a Solwise ADSL-VDSLFACE-SOL VDSL2 Filtered Splitter SIN498 and SIN346 Compliant Faceplate at main phone point.

      do you get ip address problem on all devices or just 1 device and is problem occurring on wifi and/or on ethernet as well ?
      if just on wifi split ssid for 2.4 and 5 ghz (by unticking sync ) rename 5ghz to something else ie sky(12345) X

      All devices that are connected to the WiFi and even on Blue ray player connected via ethernet.

      I have tried having separate networks and it didn't solve the problem.

      I think you may be suffering from the 'no DNS' problem which has a very active thread on the Official forum. Try giving one or more of your devices a fixed DNS. 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4 by Google are favourites.

      I have a similar situation with Apple devices and Sky Q. I mentioned this to one of their broadband experts who told me that this was a recognised problem with Apple devices. Apparently, they donít automatically switch over when leaving the WiFi signal on the say the hub and moving to one of the Miniboxes. The last firmware update was supposed to address this but the problem continues.
