      Sky Broadband

Hi, I registered for Sky Broadband on the 9th November. Recieved the router just a couple of days later, telling us the Activation date would be the 20th November.
Got letter today, dated the 14th, saying BT are experiencing technical difficulties so the activation date is now the 27th November.

I signed up to BT order tracker and I can see something for the 20th Nov:
      09 Nov 2006 - CHANGE - 20 Nov 2006 - 20 Nov 2006
I think that must be broadband.

Does that mean it could still be activated on the 20th November, or is that just out of date?

I hope it comes on by the 27th as I cant stand having to come to the library every day and dial-up is just too slow so its not worth trying it. Also disconnects after about 5 minuites

We did have AOL Broadband on this line until January this year, but we got rid of it and went to Blueyonder. Blueyonder went off a couple of weeks ago.

Also I get this when I go to DSL ZoneUK:
"ADSL is activated on this line and there are no open orders on the BT system. (Migrations excluded)"

And this when I go to Samknows.com:
"Congratulations, you are in a broadband enabled area.
However, your line is currently unbundled by an LLU operator such as Be, Bulldog or Easynet. Moving to another provider may require a cease and re-provide, which may result in loss of service for a few days."

From what you have said, it would appear that the work has been done. Have you got the router yet, so you could try?

If it does not work now, keep trying as some members have reported been connected earlier than the anticipated date.

Well I've been trying it every day hoping it would come on early. I remember AOL did when we signed up to that.
But tried this morning and still no green light for 'I'

Well it'd be alright if I didnt get a letter saying its going to be the 27th instead of 20th. Just hope there are no more dates after the 27th. I've read alot of posts on here so its possible.

I will ring them tonight. Does anyone have the freephone number?

You'd think Sky would give out a freephone dial-up number for everyone having problems and stuff.

I didn’t ring because since they said the 20th November first I think its best to wait until then to complain. If its not on by Monday night I’ll phone.

On the BT order tracker… its all saying 20th November – CHANGE – 20th November… with information unavailable. That should be the Broadband I think.

If they do that on Monday and activate the line will it come straight on or do Sky Broadband have to do something aswell?
