Hi Psycho....i guess it is ultimately a BT landline....but I was paying Plusnet for the rental (transfered from BT about 6 months ago)...

...what I'm concerned about is who I'll be paying the rental to once Sky takeover the BB, since, allegedly, Plusnet will not provide the line if you don't subscribe to one of their BB packages.

Think Ill give BT a ring.

What does the BT Broadband Checker say when you put in your phone number ??

As I posted earlier, this has now a new bit if your line has any ceases due on it. I am also no longer a "customer" of BT but I get the "cease" information.

      Hi Adam,

sorry I missed your mention of THAT BT checker...mine says the same as yours...

"Note: There is currently an ADSL cease pending or in progress against this line. This cease is due to complete by the 4th December 2006."

So not sure how that fits in with my 29th Nov Sky activation date??

stay away from sky like the movie Big Fat Liar

I ordered the sky TV Sky Talk and Broadband. I was sold a router then informed I need an ethernet port or Wireless PC conection. Then purchased all this still no Broadband. Phoned Tech many times loads of promises but no connection. Line has never been activated. Then today told could be up to 3 months. I have contacted Ofcom and Sky is said to be the second worst for customer satisfaction. I am truly disappointed and due to Sky it will be a very scarce Christmas as I was dependant on selling a few things to raise money for christmas as I have a serious illness. Sky has really let me down. I would avoid at all costs.

I assume all the time I am waiting for the switch over .... testing the Sky router will result in no internet access, and the stats will be the same as for my plus.net connection, right ??

What I mean is ... once I have been switched over (hopefully Wednesday if not before), (i) the Sky router will be able to surf the internet and (ii) the stats the Sky router returns will be completely different ??

      Adam,

Re: Sky Router questions...yes I am assuming that should be the case.

I finally got a reply to my ticket at Plusnet with regards to telephone line rental.

"You will need to transfer out your phone service, as it is not possible to have the phone service as a stand alone product.
Please advise when the migration is complete. "

So hopefully I think that means I just need to sort that out with Plusnet once the switch over is complete. Fingers crossed for Wednesday.
