allways a good sign to get the router, if the order went through anything like mine, you'll get the paperwork saying router was send out few days later, with username and password, activation date etc. Hope it goes smoothly, i am very happy that i left plusnet to sky.

According to the, new, additional functionality of the BT Broadband Checker

Note: There is currently an ADSL cease pending or in progress against this line. This cease is due to complete by the 4th December 2006.
I assume this is the date when my connection to Plus will stop - since the line will no longer be ADSL enabled, correct ??

Also, if Sky activate me before the 4th, would I be able to connect to both Sky and Plus or just Sky ?

So, unless Sky enable my line before then - the only internet access I will get between 4th and when Sky activate me will be via dialup ??

Good question Calavera.....would be interesting to know whats going on with my line even though I dont have a BT account.

Anyway got two letters from Sky yesterday....one with my username and password and one with my activation date (29/11/06 woohoo)...dont know what is going to happen still with my line rental...so just gonna wait now and see what happens on the 29th....in the letter they say it may take 3 days from that date to activate, so here's hoping that they are just covering themselves with that one!!

Out of curiosity jimbono05, how have you been able to sign up to Sky without a BT account??

Do you mean that your phone provider is not BT but it is provided via the BT line? If thats the case I'm sure BT should be able to tell you whats happening on your line if you ring them

You don't need a BT account - just a BT landline. You don't have to be paying BT the bill.
