1) at the top it says tools, click on that then click on internet options
2) Where it says home page at the top type in www.google.com or whatever start page you want in there
3) Click on apply bottom right hand corner
4) Try closing and opening IE
hope that helps

sky's disc has ie6[supplied by sky]and when you installed it it replaced ie6 [the previous version ]if you want rid of it that desperately reboot to previous settings [start, all programs ,accesories, system tools, system restore]or just use firefox like any sane person,or just live with it [think my ie6 is provided by bt[from about a year ago]

As dtr42 has said it is just a customized version of ie6 on the install disk which provides the "Internet Explorer provided by Sky Broadband" title and doesnt mean that you are connected to the sky network as of yet....
If you want to get rid of it you can edit your internet explorer title bar from in the windows registry
Please please only use regedit to edit your registry if you know what your doing as it can cause serious system problems if you mess it up.... also i would backup your existing registery in case you make any mistakes...
To do this click start then run and type in regedit
Now navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main and select the Window Title Key which should read something like: Internet Explorer Provided By Sky Broadband.
Open up the Window Title Key and delete the text in the value field and then close the registry editor then restart your pc and the "Internet Explorer Provided by Sky Broadband" will be gone...
More Details can be found on doing this from M$ here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/176497
Hope that helps

I think if it worries you that much you could perhaps install another browser (Firefox?) then un install IE7 and then reinstall a newIE7 from the Microsoft Website you would then have a shiny new version without the Sky header.
If you must, afterwards you could uninstall Firefox (shame!!)
