Talking Helpping a complete dunce !!!

First of all great site... loads of info...except you all speak 'computer' and I'm a little ... well.. you know...

Basically I am trying to set up a wireless connection for a mate...

Sky broadband unit all live and lite up like a xmas tree...802.11g adaptor connected to PC and on wireless connections on the pc it finds 'Skyxxxxx' as connectted and 3 out of 5 strength...

      Problem....

I double click the IE or sky BB icon on the PC and get 'page can not be displayed'

I am really stuck as I have never set up wireless BB before...

Can someone direct me to a 'idiots' how to guide.

      thanks in advance

      Neil

try typing 192.168.0.1 in the IE address bar. It should ask for a username and password which are admin and sky respectively. The first page should have some numbers in the ADSL section next to where it says address.

Don't tell us the numbers, just say whether there are any or just --- in their place.

Red face Another complete idiot with the same problem!

I have the same problem now, although on initial set up everything worked great. tried connecting after 3 weeks of superb connection, nothing!!!!!! Contacted sky, he talked me through some checks then said the problem was my end. Took laptop to work and connected at work no problem. Still cannot connect, Dell set up tells me the problem is with my "isp" provider, Is there a simple way to check where the problem is i.e. sky, router or my computer, please be gentle as I am over 21 and computers still frighten me
