Re: Best Modem/ Router for subŁ80 to replace SR102

It really is the pits isn't it? I cannot get a decent wireless connection sitting the other side of a wall from it. I have resorted to piggy backing another router to the SR102 and using wireless extenders. The problem with using a different router is that, in spite of what others will tell you on here, Sky have pretty much locked their router firmware down. To use anything else you need to be a major geek and use all sorts of weird and wonderful programs to extract the details that you need and then you have to set up whatever router you choose to use with more gobble de gook. Much much easier to use extenders.

Do you know what spec is for skylQ hub?

What are others using to replace stock router? I personally am after a single option solution rather than using a router along with sky hub

Only issue is see is only 2 lan connections and no usb 3.. So will need to spend something to get additional switch.

So.... Any good router suggestion than?

Re: Best Modem/ Router for subŁ80 to replace SR102

Not for Ł80. A single solution requires a modem too, there are not too many on the market that will work with Sky Option61. These off the top of my head...

      Draytek 2860
      Billion 8800 & 8900
      TPLink VR900
      Netgear D7000 & D7800
Asus DSL-AC68 ( Not on your life! )

Better option is to get an OpenReach modem and a router that supports Option61, then you have a bigger choice and a more flexible arrangement.

I don't know if the VR200 works with Option61 as I've never met one. It appears to have the same set-up as the VR900. Easiest way to check is to call TP-Link support and ask them the question.

It's a bargain at Ł70 quid if it does work with Option61.

Just checked with Tp-link support. New firmware has been released which supports Option61. So going for it as it think its a good option.

      Thanks everyone for help.
