I've been waiting for a broadband router from Sky for the Max package, for about a month now. I'm going to try to suspend my disbelief, and work under the assumption that they might manage to get it out to me.
I've read that during the first few days after activation, the line is 'trained' to determine the maximum connection speed. How will this affect my service? I had a router plugged in for the first day, but have had it switched off since then (it was a standard ADSL router) - it synchronised at 8mbit down. Will I need to get my line retrained, when I receive the ADSL2 router, or will the training process not have taken place due to the old router being switched off?

Hi ethno - welcome to skyuser.co.uk
If, as per your profile, you have signed up for Max, there is no 10 day training period. This only applies to the Connect package.
