Trouble setting up HTTP Web Server, HELP! resolved

Hi, i've done a search of the forums to find conflicting info on Sky allowing home web servers.

I can get FTP working fine on port 21.

Yet HTTP won't work? IIS is installed, port 80 is open in the firewall and dyndns has been setup and correctly forwarded to my PC behind my router.

I know it's working from within my LAN because when I type in 192.168.0.2 I get my HTML web site displayed!!!

The problem is, whenever I try my webserver via it's name e.g. xxx.dyndns.org it simply shows me the router 192.168.0.1 almost as if it's not forwarding the request to my PC behind it

Any ideas? It's driving me mad.

I think its a case of not being able to look at it locally.

You cant access a local webserver or FTP unless you try to connect by using 127.0.0.1 or localhost, this should let you access the website locally.

Cool great news, do me a favour and mark this as resolved.

At the top of the thread it gives you a threads tools option. choose close thread, this way it closes down the resolved issues
