Were to begin,well i have been online with sky Sometimes!!! for about a month,when i recieved my initial letter with my username i at no point got any password....!
So i contacted them and explained they told me they would send out the relevent info which i got a couple of days later .
I opened it to find a duplicate letter of my username but no password.
so i asked them again and got another letter with.........my username and no password......arggghhhhh.
Anyhoo i eventually got a password a couple of days ago ..............but it did not work ,and yes i have read about changing upper and lower case but no joy there,so i contact sky YET again they appolgise and say they will credit my account for the trouble they have caused me ,god knows what they are sending me this time .so at present i have no login in to sky web site but most annoying i have no email in outlook express and have had to use google mail.
anyone else having these annoying problems
NTL never looked so good untill now.

The user name & password that you have been provided with will enable you to send & receive emails using an @sky.com address.
The user name is the first part of your email address (eg if the user name is FredBloggs, your email address will be FredBloggs@sky.com).
You will need to set up an email account in Outlook (or any other similar email application - I use Outlook).
To set up the details in Outlook, do the following:
1. Open Outlook & click 'Tools' & then select 'E-Mail Accounts'
2. Put a check in the 'Add a new email account' section then click 'Next'
3. Put a check in 'POP3' and click 'next'
4. Enter your name in the 'Your Name' box
5. Enter your email address in the 'E-Mail Address box' (eg FredBloggs@sky.com)
6. Enter pop.sky.com in the 'Incoming Mail Server' box
7. Enter smtp.sky.com in the 'Outgoing Mail Server' box
8. Enter your username in the 'User Name' box
9. Enter your password in the 'Password' box (it will appear as ****'s)
10. Put a tick in the 'Remember password' check box
You should then be able to send & receive emails using you @sky.com account.
With regards to accessing the portal, there have been major problems for some people logging into this (I've been with Sky for 2 weeks & still haven't managed to log in yet) - Sky are supposedly working on a fix - just keep trying on a day by day basis.
Hope this helps.

Use the password reset facility on the sky.com website!
I had forgot my password - went through that proceedure and it worked for me.

Look at the tutorial section, there's a visual guide there."If you are planning for a year, sow rice;
if you are planning for a decade, plant trees;
if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people."

Your Not Alone
You’re not alone, when Sky broadband started they set out to give some an email and some poor bu--ers not. It’s the luck of the draw, I don’t have an email.
You would have thought that they would give the paying users one above the ones who are on the free tariff.
I have had 3 password resets on an email that does not exist. You won’t win, I like you have settled with a Google mail which works fine all around.
There typical excuses are: Server Down, It will be fixed next week, & passing the whole thing on to another member of staff to get shot of it.
What makes it more infuriating is when members on here scoff about the fact that they have one. “One Of the Chosen Few” I say. "So What"
