explain this if you can - in real words

After checking your account, I note that we are having technical difficulties with the Tie Pairs at your exchange. We are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. Unfortunately I cannot offer you a timescale for the resolution of this.

I understand that this must be frustrating and thank you for your continued patience.

any help would be appreciated !!!

Tie Pairs are some part of the cabling for the LLU process as far as I can tell. Sounds like they just have some dodgy ones.

I reckon it means no one at sky has any idea what's wrong and they hope someone else fixes it soon.

But after a few weeks of dialup thanks to Sky I would be a bit cynical.

The "tie pair" is your phone line.

Sounds like there's a discrepancy between the BT system (BT own the tied pairs) and the SKY LLU provisioning system.
