Question HTTPS pages often don't load...help!

Spent 2hrs yesterday trying to resolve my dads problem with Sky Broadband (ADSL)

Basically can access any site, but https sites nearly always fail - page can't be displayed error. Thought it might be an issue with his PC so tried my laptop on it and it's exactly the same.

Anyone got any suggestions, or have similiar probs using Sky?

Router is the Sky supplied Netgear wireless, but my Dads PC is connected via wired NIC, the fault was apparent on my laptop also, my feeling is it's a problem at the ISP level.

I've been working in IT for 10 years so technical replies welcome

We have asked for an update to this problem in the communication channel, hopefully we can update once we have an answer.
