      Help please

I would like some help and info. We have just been hooked up with the sky max package and very dissapointed. The guys on the phone say we are getting between 7 to 12 MB connection on the line at the mo, however on my computer it is barely faster that dial up and sometimes alot slower. For instance tried to download something and the max speed i saw was 12kb/s but it mainly hovered round the 8 kb/s. I have looked on that page that displays your router info and it does say connected at about 8mb/s and did an online test that gave a download of 210 kbps, which is no where near 8 Mbs. Does anyone have a similar problem or any ideas what the problem maybe? Obviously we are on that waiting list to here from these special tier 3 people but nothing yet. Any help much appreciated.

I have tried many of those things suggested, it is a problem that is on both comp connected to the network. It is so frustrating not having a connection faster than dial up in reality!!!
