I really am loathe to ring technical support to spend hours on the phone for them to tell me it's settings etc etc when I know it is THEIR problem.

      Hi,

I do wish customer services and 1st tier admit its a fault with sky. The 2nd tier guy who called me back confirmed its an issue but he said he shouldnt be telling me that! Ive noticed after trying https, normal browsing breaks, but trying ipconfig /flushdns can get it working quicker. still not https

Ive done a little research as i have had a similar issue with plusnet when one of their login servers was flakey.

I am on connect, ip range: 90.194.104.x

Try tracert www.yahoo.co.uk to find out your gateway ip, its the 2nd hop:
      2 15 ms 15 ms 15 ms dr0.thlon.uk.easynet.net [82.108.0.75]
      3 17 ms 15 ms 15 ms ip-89-200-130-27.ov.easynet.net [89.200.130.27]
      4 16 ms 15 ms 15 ms ip-89-200-132-122.ov.easynet.net [89.200.132.122]
      5 16 ms 15 ms 17 ms ge1-1-0.er3.thlon.uk.easynet.net [89.200.130.2]

These are the bad boys that you go through before hitting the internet. I tried the same on my mums sky account, she has the llu 5 offer and has no issues with https.

      2 54 ms 63 ms 53 ms cr0.lseri.uk.easynet.net [195.189.158.66]
      3 38 ms 38 ms 38 ms 80.238.38.1
      4 69 ms 76 ms 104 ms ip-89-200-132-122.ov.easynet.net [89.200.132.122]
      5 38 ms 38 ms 38 ms ge1-1-0.er3.thlon.uk.easynet.net [89.200.130.2]

So the difference is that my mum goes through a different gateway. One that works maybe and im on the flakey one?

Can you try tracert www.yahoo.co.uk and let me know if your gateway is the same and if you have the same issue with https.

The guy at sky i spoke to said it could take a couple of weeks and that they are testing a fix. Thankfully i can use my work laptop to VPN in and use my work proxies!

      Hi there

I'm currently having the same probs as everyone else, however I'm also unable to even view the router status page. Whenever I go to 192.168.0.1 I get the message 'System Authentication Failed'. I don't know if this is something to do with the whole secure websites thing or if my router is jaked. I really don't fancy speaking to technical support at this point in my life as I'm fairly confident they'll just annoy me

Help! does anyone have any idea?
