I have the same problem...LCP down, LCP initializing, LCP UP... Chap Authentication Successful, LCP down.. etc etc... After contacting Sky weeks back... Sky finally rang me up two days ago and said "Hi...You've been having line problems? " and so I replied "yep.. the line keeps dropping"... so the 'sky-guy' decided to run some tests.

      1. The Sky-Guy capped me at 8mb first.. but the connection still dropped.
      2. The Sky-Guy made me replace the filter.. but the connection still dropped.
      3. The Sky-Guy told me to disconnect all phones and microfilters from all
the sockets in the house apart from the master socket and to leave the
router only connected to the master socket. As all phones were to be
disconnected he took down my mobile number and rang it.. (HE ACTUALLY
DID RING... Surprising???..first time a sky guy didn't lie). The connection
      still dropped though.
      4. The Sky-Guy made me unscrew the master socket's cover so that I had
access to the test socket located within. He made me connect the router
to the test socket.. and waited a while. The connection still dropped.
      5. The Sky-Guy said "Oh... Dear"

His Conclusion: "hmmm.. The Router can't keep a connection on the line; it seems to be faulty and needs to be replaced. I'll order you another one, you'll receive it in 5 days"

but then again... my router hasn't been working properly since day 1?... Maybe your one has only just become faulty? (lets hope not)

      Unhappy

I received the new sky broadband router today!
-BUT! - It didn't make a difference!!... The line still drops after every 2 minutes

I rang the technical support again (for the 100th time) and told them that the new router hasn't made a difference. The Sky-Lady told me that the Sky-Guy who I had talked to before (see previous post) is to call me back in two days.

How did you get on? I've been getting the same problem as you for the week or 2.

A tech guy is due to call me back in the next 24 hours (not holding my breath though)

      Sounds awfully familiar....
Help - Frequent disconnects (every 10-15mins or worse)

If you've been through the usual uPnP stuff, and replaced router, next candidate is fault at the exchange. Good luck.

Not Good!!! - They've made very little progress... the line is slightly more reliable than before (but still capped at 512kb)

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 512 kbps 416 kbps
Line Attenuation 26.0 db 17.0 db
Noise Margin 32.9 db 13.0 db
