Those results don't look bad to me alyt.

As a general rule, 50ms & below is perfectly acceptable. A bad ping to a UK server would be around 150ms but to a west coast US server that would be a little high but not really bad.

      **EDIT**

Do a tracert instead of a ping to the server that your xbox is connecting & post the results from that

To do a tracert, open a windows command prompt & type tracert then press enter

At the end of the day alyt it all comes down to the time of day etc.

For online gaming the results you posted should not give you any problems at all.

Are you experiencing any problems whilst gaming? If so definitely do a tracert & post the results so that we can look at the results as even though you get a good ping the tracert will show how many hops between you & the server & any bottlenecks.

      Yep those pings look fine.

The interleaved natured of high bandwidth systems adds around 10mS - 20mS to the round trip.

So, for example, if you were on a 2Mbps fixed rate system (which is non-interleaved) you would see pings of around 30mS (maybe as low at 20mS).

But interleaving is the price you pay for stability at a high sync speed on plain on BT copper.

      Cheers,

      Nigel

      rbentley,

Those are impressive pings to www.jolt.co.uk.

Mine are usually around the 42mS mark.

I'd been interested in seeing how our traceroutes compared. Mine are
