      Im getting slow speeds alos!

Sites which are usually quick are loading slow, while some others are normal.
Yet downlaods seem to be limiting at 130kbps, even on usenet !

      IP is 90.192.195.xx
      Sky MAX
and exchange is Middlesbrough, 700meters away.

Me too now, over the last couple of days, but today especially! My noise margin is above 8 and I am getting slow page loads and timeouts on several sites. I have resorted to a reboot several times today. It may have been unecessary, but it worked.

Unbelievable, I ring SKY to ask for some compensation for the 4 days I couldnt sign on and to give them their due they gave me a months credit of 17 (connect!). I also had a moan that I expected a better broadband service than this and thats why I had changed from TALKTALK. But as soon as I'm off the phone, the broadband is working great. Theres one for the conspiracy theorists.

Hi, im new here, switching over from bulldog (complete nightmare)
had a read through some of the posts here,
Sounds alot like you guys have a slow dns server to me,
Could try out a few other ips and see if you get any better luck
with those. I put a couple below to try out to see if they
      work and if any better.

      194.72.6.51
      213.120.62.104

Should be all working by next week so prob be able to tell
you more when its in front of me. Hell, it cant be worse than
      bulldog *cross' fingers

      Hi SatDish

Mine was always bad but is getting steadily worse. Have to click on links 2 or more times to get the page to work.

      Exchange : Burton on Trent
      Package: Connect (Again)
      Ip Address: 90.194.119.***

Also upload speeds are slowly reducing too.

Don't know if this will be relevant to anyone else but here goes...

I was really disappointed with the download speed of my shiny new Sky BB Max connection until I took a close look at the routers admin page. In particular, the Firewall Rules page.

The only inbound rule on the list was the default which blocks all incoming traffic. So, I created a rule for each PC on my network to allow all HTTP traffic and low and behold the next speed test I ran returned a result of 7.85Mbps. A vast improvement on the 534Kbps of the last test.

So, if like me you assumed your router arrived already set up for internet browsing only to suffer from crappy download speeds for no apparent reason, you may want to check this out.
