At least they are aware of this. Thanks for this Evil - much appreciated. Hopefully this will be fixed on Monday as it is a pain to say the least.

It is also a tad annoying that because it is the weekend nothing can be done until Monday, life doesn't just stop before most people have two days off.

As I said in that thread I would be surprised if that is the cause of the problem because prior to Friday I hadn't had these random cut outs and my exchange has been red for a number of weeks now.

the longer the exchange stays red the worse he problem will be, the more people get connected to an exchange the more bandwidth is eaten up, and slower speeds for all, those on LLU wont notice it as much as you connect people as connect is on BT's IPStream and network not Sky's

I agree, not sure if thats the cause of our issues. My speeds at night had been crap for the first few weeks and then after the supposed date passed for VP upgarde 19/10, now pages don't even come up and I just get page cannot be found, eventually it springs back into life for about 5 minutes and then drops out again but the line sync remains and the router shows no disconnection.

I am inclined to believe earlier statements from folks stating Sky are aware of soem kind of "major outage" for Connect users, we shall wait and see what Monday brings because as off right now my connection is no good to me in this state.

thats the problem though boab, the connect packages are controlled by BT, Connect is just Sky's equivalent to ADSL Max, BT controls it

I have just switched from one BT max DSL connection with Freedon to Surf to Sky connect (for reasons thats deserves its own thread).

I was connected on thursday and since then I have had numerous trouble with my connection. I can only believe this is a problem at Sky's end as I did not have the problem with F2S.

My external IP is 90.194.105.xxx

most of the time I could not connect at all - the was a problem connecting to the DNS server then when that was fixed I had a problem with ports - windows was reporting that a firewall was incorrectly setup so I disabled windows firewall and manually set the router to forward port 80 TCP (http) neither helped.

I then ran a tracert to one of my websites and I was constantly timing out after reaching Easynet.

My exchange is currently green.

Damien

I mentioned this in another thread but ill posrt it here as this is a sticky.

Been fine last two weeks (apart from unrelated problems) all sites have worked apart from perhaps two or three which then began to work.

Now I keep getting timeouts when logging into places like ebay or hotmail, also tried for some home insurance from saga tried clicking on the link to get quote and it timed out. I read earlier in this thread that someone thought https pages were worst affected and i must agree.

Think sky should get this fixed ASAP, just for reference I am not in the 90.194 block i am in 90.196, although this sometimes changes (i have been in the 90.198 block)

Like i mentioned in my other post the sky tech guy said sky knew about this problem and were working on it, all i can suggest is anyone having this problem ring the tech and tell them, the more people ringing about it they have the more they will take notice, here is the FREE number...

0800 051 2595

hope this helps get this problem sorted.
