If you upgrade with James' CU firmware it will allow you to do this among a few other neat things. It is perfectly safe and is capable of accepting any updates Sky may throw at it. Read about it and get the download link from here-

If you are still having DNS problems, have you tried OpenDNS as detailed above? What you have posted is meaningless without some explanation.
