Slow page loading times

My router shows a line speed of over 7Mbps but I never manage more than 2-2.5Mbps on downloads. I get similar d/l speeds when mobile on my T-Mobile Vario II!!!
So many pages hang at 'Waiting...', sometimes for 10-20 seconds. Not what I'd call 'high-speed Internet'
Maybe there's massive congestion on Sky's servers? Hopefully this will improve?

are you wired or wireless?
have you ran the optimiser?
speed test from Namesco BroadbandMax ADSL Broadband Bandwidth speedtest | Test your ADSL Broadband connection speed

My main PC is LAN connected to the router and I use my PPC over wifi. The results for Namesco BB speedtest can be found here: Namesco BroadbandMax Bandwidth speedtest | Test your ADSL connection speed (6355kb/s and 335kb/s) which are quoted as MUCH faster than speedtest.net which has given speeds of 3158kb/s and 315kb/s within seconds of running the Namesco tester. I haven't run the optimiser, I'll do that now...
