The payment from the Broadband service is taken as the same time as your Sky TV one so there is only one payment per month. The only other payment will be if you have to pay an activation fee if you are signing up for either the Connect or Mid packages and this will be taken separately from your account.

Okay, Plusnet are really #ing me off now so i am seriously thinking about this. I registered with sky about 3 weeks ago but i havent heard anything (band code), how do i sign up?

Oh and i saw that p2p throttling is taking place. How harsh is it on the Connect package?

      Not as harsh as Plusnet

Also without any concrete evidence we cannot say. Loads of people report their's is fine and others saying pretty bad.

The only real way of finding out is for some one to try a test file on connect and post the info back. Any takers?

i signed up from pipex (2mb) to connect, knowing that i could expect some technical hitches with this new ISP. i got connected in the beginning of october had some minor slowness for a week or two on secured sites but since November sky connect has been working fine, secured site, BT and p2p sites as well. i would say go for it, as for CServices, i think they are just as worse as CarP-WHouse, but if you do get problems then phone Sky techies then phone Sky CS and demand some sort of compensation, so far my first 2 months have been refunded/credited, but hopefully i wont need to ring them up to complain if they keep up the good connection.

I am not sure but I am sure I read a post about this a while ago and I think its possible by calling the main Sky TV Customer Support number.

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

Okay thanks. I might give that a wirl, or just phone up the skybroadband number and give them a goosing. If not, then its NewNet which has only got a 1 month contract. I can then wait until sky llu my exchange.

dont join is the only advice that i will give you.

I have now finally managed to get rid of sky broadand after 3 months of them telling me i was connected no your not yes your are etc.

I am so glad that i have now left them i would never go back to them again they were the worst isp that i have ever used.

Very slow download speeds compared with other ips, useless support, and more importantly you have to wait ages for the phone to be answered only to be told that they dont know whats going on.

so again do not join pay out more each month and get a decent service sky are just not worth it.

I learnt the heard way i paid my aol contract off 4 months early to move to sky and i wish i hadnt of bothered it wasnt worth the hassle.
