      have you tried the connection with another type of wireless card? maybe ask a mate to borrow his 1 to test it out. See if there is a big different is the speeds. if not could be a fault with the router itself. i have heard that this particular model router is not really great with wireless.

      will try that, would a 54mbs card make alot of differance to a 108 mbs card?

      I had the same problem with my wireless router. It would only transfer at about 500kbps. I tried every setting to try and fix it but nothing.
      I finally checked the arial on the router and found that when I touched the arial the speed would shoot up to 4-12mbps. I am not sure if this will help you but I found that I had to losen the arial so that it is not screwed in tight behind the router for it to work properly. It works best if you untighten it just a little bit so its about 1/10 of a turn from being tight.

      Don't know if this is a problem with all Netgear routers but it is on my mine.

      borrowed a mates 108mbs card.
      works a treat,getting 10mb+ now,, am happy with that,
      just downloaded a 130mb file from blueyonder ftp in 1 min 30.

      so it was your card. intresting huh. what make and model of the card were u using? Would be usefull for any other members having the same problem.

      belkin F5D7050UK usb.
      linksys WPC54G laptop card.


      Cant get my linksys router to connect up to the net even though im putting in my sky username and password. in the router settings it says its connected, but when i open any page in explorer it says page cant be displayed.
