No sorry, I didn't take any notice of the firmware version before. This is the current one though....

      Firmware Version 2.1r.3727.R
      DSL Firmware VersionA2pv6F038m.d24j

One thing I did notice yesterday afternoon was a drop of 2db from 12 to 10. There was nothing changed in the house at the time, so no idea on that or (anything else tbh).

      Hmmm.....(today's figure)

Hoping it can end up with a better job than the above result

      2.1r.3727.R is the latest firmware.
      Sky Router Firmware

So if DLM started training on the 22nd, that means the day 1 resync did indeed happen while you were using the sagem.

On the one hand, very impressive that it kicked in so quickly.
On the other, a shame it didn't have a clear run on the same router without any disconnections.
As it was just the once & early on during training, i doubt the router swap would affect the outcome.

That is the latest firmware so it has updated and rebooted the router. Mine has still not updated and is 2.1q.3595.R

It looks like you have a noise problem on your line, or your speed would have gone much higher. Maybe they can adjust it with the power settings.

Whats that then, something with these latest routers?.

In general, I've found them very reluctant to do anything tbh, with the attitude, its 'within the acceptable range'. There was one Sky guy I talked to quite a few years back now, who was in the advanced technical help tier (whatever its called). Not only did he obviously really know his stuff, but had a great attitude to go with it. It really felt like talking on here, or to one of your mates. He messed around with the settings there and then, and I ended up with an amazing (for my line) 10meg down.

Nothing to do with the routers, its down to line settings, Basically, to 'push' the signal down the line a certain amount of power is used. Up to a point, the more power used the better the signal will be, but too much will distort the signal. It also costs financially, so most providers will work with the minimum power required. DLM can adjust these settings, which you will notice when the stats show a low noise margin, such as yours, yet it still manages to increase the speed.

I hope that's not it, or I'm ending down on what I used to get.

Re: After the thunder & lightning today :(

      TBH it's not brilliant.

I have seen an example before of DLM pausing for one night & then carrying on, but that is rare.
5 days would also be considered a short run, so there is a small chance it hasn't finished yet.

If it has finished, i see 3 possible reasons for the lack of performance.

      1. The line is just one of those not in the best condition & will only ever reach the lower end of what would be considered 'reasonablely acceptable' for a 39db line.
      2. DLM has set it a bit low to compensate for errors caused by noise fluctuations.
      3. The reboot (probably caused by a firmware update) coupled with the earlier router swap has caused DLM to be conservative.

If when at 8760Kbps you used to see the noise margin go very low, you might still be on the same profile.
A reboot while the margin is significantly above the current target of 6db (say 6.4db+) would go some way towards revealing that.

Re: After the thunder & lightning today :(

The noise margin used to go as low as '3' with the SR101. I will leave it as is for now and maybe wait for a message on 'my sky' to confirm when the training has ended (hopefully they're on the ball with that), then do a reset/reboot as you suggest and see what happens.

Really appreciating all the feedback btw.

No reset again overnight. Been checking the 'mysky' but no message yet about line training ended. Think I'll give it one more night then try rebooting it tomorrow.

In my experience, the MySky status lags considerably behind reality and shouldn't be relied on.
