      It certainly looks like it.
The resync you had on the sagem may have been DLM too.

If so, that's quite impressive that it kicked in automatically so quickly.
Traditionally it's been quick to step in & lower the speed when a line develops a problem, but not so quick to raise speeds after an improvement.

The DLM software has been improved yet again very recently.
New connections for instance start off at the highest possible speed now & are adjusted from there, like fibre DLM.
This might be another improvement they've made.

A 39db attenuation would normally yield somewhere around 10Mbps downstream speed.
I see you were previously at 8670Kbps, which within 'acceptable range'.
Hopefully DLM will give you a little more this time.

Another reset last night. Nothing changed except a slight increase in the noise margin.

      Hi joe.

Ordinarily it might be considered as a little odd that DLM would do that, but of course the software has only very recently been updated.
Yours is the first day by day account of it running that i've seen anyway.

I'd say that a high noise margin at this stage is a good thing, as long as it's stable.
Theoretically, the higher the margin, the higher the speed potential.
DLM could be fiddling with other things behind the scenes too, so if they matter to you, keep an eye on the ping times as they may improve as well.

Aclually, having read some of your older posts, i see that noise margin variance has been a 'feature' of your line.

It is possible that this has caused DLM to take some extra time to figure things out before pushing the speed up.

Have you ever run something like routerstats lite to see how severe this variance is?

I have thought about it before, but I only have one pc and that's in the room I sleep in. And I imagine a 24hr period (at least) is needed for that program to give the best results. I will keep this thread updated daily though in case it is of interest to you or anyone else and to share thoughts on the results.

One thing that occurred to me is 'they' used to say you should do as much activity online as possible during DLM, to help the process. That's not a problem, but i did wonder if its still relevant.

I'm always interested in these DLM threads, so yes thank you.

As for usage while it's in training mode, all i've ever read from reputable sources is that it really doesn't matter.
Most posts i see regarding this are by people thinking the opposite, worried that they shouldn't use it too much.

Your router actually rebooted last night, which is unusual, DLM resets the WAN uptime only. Did you receive a firmware update, or did you have a power cut. Its either that or your noise margin has spiked and dropped so low it could not maintain the connection. I have my doubts the DLM training is working, maybe you should call Sky and ask them to reset your connection.

      Oops, i didn't notice that.
      System uptime was 8hrs too.

Being a new router, would a firmware update be most likely?

I think so, another member commented that he had received a brand new router with very old firmware on it. It up dated after some time on line. I wonder if 'Joe' noticed what firmware it had previously?
