      Midlands Region

hey...i am on the sky broadband max package and yesterday from around 6.00am when i first tried to connect - i was unable to. After many failed attempts to connect i phoned sky and they said the WHOLE MIDLANDS NETWORK of sky broadband was down. This unable to connect situtaion carried on for the whole day and after many phone calls to sky they said it would be working by 8pm but it did not. Finally after a whole day without sky broadband i am back on - DID ANYONE ELSE HAVE THIS PROBLEM as i would like to know???

Considering around 10 excanges were down from around Sunday morning & it affected all DSLAMS/Cards & Ports,I'd say a lot of other people had the same problem.

Yep- I had the problem too - I posted here yesterday to find out if anyone was having the same problem - I dont know if its related but a large exchange ( Handsworth ) was broken into and vandelised to the extent that large parts of the surrounding area lost all phone/coms etc. It was reported in the Birmigham media as a potentially co-ordinated effort to disable emergency service calls prior to local premise's being robbed - or - was suggested that an ex - BT engineers with a gripe had done it. Maybe this had some bearing on the midlands problems ? - maybe media hysteria, who knows.

The version I heard was that burglers broke into the postal sorting office next door and cut the wires in the process?
