Im not sure if your exchange was also effected, But Easynet/Sky were doing major upgrades yesterday, Which effected all of its;
75 West Midlands exchanges?
Maybe they were doing some maintainance elsewhere?

As newbie to Sky broadband I had similar problem, each morning when I tried to connect to the internet nothing if I switch off the sky box and leave it for a few minuets then switch it back on connection works.
Rang Sky, they say leaving the box switched on over night causes it to over heat and switch itself off. Sky suggest switching the box off each night
This surely has got to be a joke I had a BT wireless connection for 2 years which was rarely needed switching off.
