got a call from tier 3, said they have escalated the fault with bt.

also got my dad who works on llu/openreach to to get in touch with some of his mates, hes spoken to an llu manager for a different area who is going to try and get someone in this area to take a look at the jumpering in the exchange.

also checked on bt internal fault system and no fault was raised on the line, so we shall see what happens with that.

hopefully one way or another i will be on sky and next week itll be sorted.

edit: also just had a strage call from bt, "thank you for calling, goodbye".
that was it... it was from a bt 0800 number they use for external calls.

Well fingers crossed that it will now be fixed, not bad having a father working for them

      still going round in circles,
had a call from sky to say bt have fixed the problem.

great i thought, but from the phone i could still see the router taunting me,
no blinking lights, zip, nada, nothing.

restarted the router. tested master socket. etc nothing.

i asked if i was talking to tier 3, and he said yes it is tier 3. now i dont like to call people liers but i am not totally sure it was actually tier 3.

also told me "max" is too fast for my line which is why there was no sync at all. but i told him i have been capped at 128k, he seems very suprised and had to say it again.

also told me bt has tried to contact me, ive had no contact from bt and i shouldnt do should i? as this is a sky matter and i shouldnt be dealing with bt, although it might be better if i do.
my ticket has been closed because the fault was "resolved", it wasnt...

The only time time you would get connected by BT is if you have a line fault in the exchange that affects voice.

      You have a PM mate

call with tier3, maybe a coincidence but i had 2 faults, yes 2!

one was a bt fault, which has been fixed, and also a faulty port on the card, the sky problem, sky have given me a timeframe of 24 hours and it should be fixed.

hopefully all sorted this time tomorrow.

      Im Connected!!

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 10067 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 36.0 db 20.5 db
Noise Margin 7.0 db 12.0 db

      was hoping for higher speed,
my attenuation has gone up to 36, it was 31 on ipstream. is that normal?

just to add, speeds are fine, and getting around 1100kbps downloads.
not experienced any thing bad so far.
      fingers crossed.

having a few problems now, connections up and down at the moment,
doesnt seem to loose sync or anything, just keep getting signed out of msn and disconnected from servers. then its back up a few seconds later.

      might play around with it.
