      Smile Taken the Leap!

      Hello,

Just recently signed up to the site, read the reviews and have decided to sign up with sky,

Currently with Pipex and their 1MB service would only upgrade me to 8 MB for 24.99 per mpnth.

Gone with sky for Max package and they say line can handle 14.5mb so not far off the 16mb quotesm should be super fast!!!!!

Will keep you all posted on how it goes!!!

Some Advice.. Its always advisable to inform your old ISP as soon as you have migrated that you have moved.

      Hello,

Thanks for the message. Advisor said it would be 3-5 days to get switched over, when i said that it was 10 days on average he seemed to be a little lost.

Am going to ring them again today to get a definative answer now that they have my order and see what they say, I will keep updated. Never asked about a wireless pc card or usb dongle so will say i was never advised!

Will let you know more when i get it!

I signed up on Saturday . I am with Virgin at the moment so had to do all the MAC code stuff. Went for the 5 a month package as my line only supports 5.5 Mbps broadband.

Any idea how long it takes to switch once Sky have the MAC Code? In the Virgin terms and conditions, it is a 30 day cancellation period. Not sure if Sky can take over while inside the 30 days or not.

      Smile

Not sure about virgin but pipex said that if i wasn't transferred over in 30 days then my BB would end and i would have to email them to keep the connection.

Have spoken to sky and they have advised the following

      1. I wouldn't get an email from them to confirm, just the letter and also the pack within 5 days

      2. web based email however can be linked to outlook

      3. 5 days to get connected/delivery of items, gave the impression that would be connected when i got my box, then contradicted himself saying that would get letter confirming the switch over. thought would be hear by friday or saturday.

      4. could by a wireless adaptor from sky for 20 with free P&P

      5. confirmed my speed again at 14.5MB

So looks good at the moment....

      Here are my current speeds

      922 KBPS download

      239 KBPS Upload
