V low tech solution for daily necessary reboots

While my connection is now v stable and I'm very happy I do still notice that speed can drop off. If I reboot it pops back up to about 10megs each time. The solution that works for me is to plug the router into one of those clunky timer switches that turn your light on and off while you're on holiday. I've set it to turn the router off for 30 mins at 4am (before I get up) and 4pm (before I come home). Having done this for more than a week I can absolutely say that for me it keeps my router connected at my best possible speed limit.

In a "high tec" world ..... the simplist of things still have a place.

      Fine idea.

you could always call sky and ask them to limit your sync rate so that it gives you a stable connection all the time

      I have

And they have and it now syncs at around 12900 and that gives me a stable 10mbps. It's just that I noticed that my service falls off a little after long term sync and bounces back up again once ive rebooted. This is just an automatic twice daily hard reboot and it seems to be doing far more good than harm.
