      Drastic loss of download speed (Unlimited broadband)

      Greetings

      I used to get an average of 16mb download with no problems, over the past month I have noticed it getting slower and slower until just over a week ago it dropped to 0.4 .

      I have been on the sky forums and spoken to sky on the phone and the best I have got out of nearly 2 weeks of back and forth is an extremely unstable 6mb download.

      Connection Speed 18012 kbps 1212 kbps
      Line Attenuation 12.0 dB 8.1 dB
      Noise Margin 7.3 dB 9.2 dB

      The connection speed used to be 23000 until today when the sky help guy told me they lowered it to 18000 because it was too high.

      I live 0.4 k from my exchange and used the internet daily for gaming and watching streams, when my connection drops I can barely open a web page.

      Can anyone give me some help or advice as I am at the point of switching to virgin.

      It looks like you may be on one of the congested exchanges. Have a look at this thread -
