I think i may have spoken too soon Scubbie.

Now that todays graph has jogged on past 10pm, there's activity showing up at around 9:30pm.
This is with the sky box's ethernet cable still disconnected.
PS3 was on between 8 & 10pm, but i was watching a movie from the hard drive & that doesn't use the internet lol.

Unless there's 2 separate things going on (STB at 1 & 6am + tiny bit of evening congestion), i don't think i've got to the bottom of this yet.

I'll continue to leave the STB disconnected from the router & see what happens.

Re: Monitor graph - is this normal?

Well it certainly looks like it was the sky box causing activity at around 1:30 & 6am:

That's 4 days connected to router & 4 days of activity.
Now 2 days disconnected from router & 2 days of inactivity.

At the end of the day, i couldn't care less as long as:
      A) It doesn't affect online gaming (or anything else tbh).
      B) Isn't anything sinister, like government snooping or the like.

Somebody told me the other day that it might be something to do with adsmart & also that adsmart may have been the reason for the odd box reset?

In the early press discussions surrounding AdSmart they mention that the ads would be downloaded via the Internet.

      This is not the case.

The adverts for AdSmart are aired in the same way that the Showcase items are aired and recorded in secret on your STB to be made available when required.

I am thinking that the new on-line search feature might be linked to the glitches. This does download information as you type in your search.

I believe the thinking behind adsmart possibly being the culprit was that the info on viewing habits has to get back to sky somehow.

With regards to search, wouldn't i have to be doing lots of searches at 1 & 6am every day for that to be the cause?
