      Using a different router

      Hi

I have recently (yesterday) managed to get my sky broadband working, i am on the max package, and after sucessfully accessing the net through the setup managed to get a connection speed of 11Mb. However I need to connect my pc wirelessly (My wife for some reason does not think that a 30' cable running up the stairs to the study is acceptable). Using my previous wireless box (a 3Com enterprise ADSL router) I had a continuous connection of 54Mbps, giving me about 1.7Mb speed from my old BT 2Mb ADSL.

My problem is that the new netgear box only connects at 11Mbps with the pc. The best download (and upload) speed i have managed to get is 0.6Mbps wirelessly. Is there any way I can connect to the skybroadband using my old router? or is the connection MAC address restricted?

If there is, can anyone give me the connection settings for the sky system

      Thanks

      Iain

As far as I know you can only use the SKY router. Any other router will not work.

the answer is yes you can use any router however you need to get your login in details from your supplied sky router first.
