      Sky ip number and authentication

Anyone else been having issues with this recently?

I sync fine with the exchange, but recently I seem to lose my ip address on my router from time to time (ie. quite regularly, multiple times per day). The router also seems to find it hard to re-authenticate and issue a new ip number.

All the while, the router reports as connected to the exchange and has a good sync speed.

Re-booting fixes this (sometimes I need to try a disconnect followed by a connect a few times before I get success). However, it is irritating (and not an easy thing to explain to other family members.

Sky seemed to think this was a known issue.

So, anyone else experiencing this? If so, had any luck fixing it - or is it just a question of waiting on Sky to find the fault?

      Hi Alistair,

Seems quite a few have issues with this of late, then if you have more than one PC on a home network it gets worse.

      See IP conflicts

Adding to that, I am now getting loads of noise on the line which is dropping my service every 10 minutes or so

      Here are some stats!!!!

      Regards,
      Ian

Thanks, I will check, but I don't think that is the same issue.

My issue is that the router is not RECEIVING an ip address for the WAN, not that it is issuing inappropriate ip addresses on the LAN.
