      Re: really bad broadband connection

You should really be getting around 9000Kbps downstream with that attenuation. You could try ringing Sky to see if they can run DLM on your line again, might help.

Perhaps I am coming in a bit late here, but IMHO DLM will not be enough on its own.

Yes the Line Attenuation indicates that you should be achieving a connection speed of between 9mb and 10mb, but your Noise Margin for the downstream connection is already at 2.5dB. It should not go much lower. I suspect that there is something else causing you a problem

How are you connecting your router to the telephone line?

Are you using the microfilters supplied by Sky or some other method?

Which telephone socket are you plugged into?

Are you using any extension leads?

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms
