One thing the techie said was to turn off the router. Then once is restarted it's a new session, which when i ring back next week we can look at and get fresh figures.
When i ran the F-Secure online scanner, both machines where clean.
I downloaded a monitoring program and after a couple of hours 2142 demo, i'd uploaded arround 7mb. Seems a lot but theres now way i'd played 200hrs of it in the last few days lol.
725md in 5 days is an average of 145mb/day!
Just have to keep looking.

i suddenly thought last night,
do you have any other pcs or laptops connected to your wireless network?

On my network i have 2 pc's and 1 laptop.
If anything the laptop is the weak link security wise. It's work kit, not mine.
Has no firewall and Norton or Symnatec a/v. + Spybot.
My security goes as follows:
1. Comodo firewall, AVG a/v + a few antispyware (spybot, ad-aware + xoftspy)
2. Z/Alarm free firewall, AVG a/v + antispyware.
The version of XP on the laptop is most likely full of holes, tweak by Dell and then by my company.
I can never understand why they can't make applications to work in windows, instead of hacking windows to pieces untill they work. Ah well.

Your post reminded me that i have XoftSpy, paid for.
I ran it and it found:
Winpcap - i think that appears if you run the network wizzard.
I can't recommend Xoft enough as it has found some nasty stuff in the past too that nothing else seems to find.
Scans for free but you have to pay for licence, for removal.
Great diagnostic tool at the very least.

Doesn't your S/W firewall have an activity monitor showing current running programs and/or connections?
If not, try the trial copy of Tiny Personal Firewall. I bought the licenced version about a year ago and i love it - shows everything thats currently talking to the internet, very good rulebase (if a little bit techy/confusing) but highly recommended.I don't care if the glass is half full or half empty, i just want to know who's been drinking my pint!!!

That may be the prob
Not sure how others have found this software but i think its great i use microsofts one care program donwload the new beta from live . com its got 180 days use, its always worked for me and secures my own laptop on my wireless connection.
I used norton but it slowed everything down to much so i got rid

On the laptop i have found:
Exploit Child Watchdog - Keylogger
Filespy - Keylogger
Media Motor - Adware
New Dial - Dialer
Sfonditalia - Dialer
Some data miner cookies
And with no way to remove them!!
My company is so senseless but i guess it would cost loads to lisence every one with stuff.
