      Unhappy DLM / Disconnections / Banded profile

      I moved house recently and our broadband was set up at the beginning of December.

      I have been experiencing lots of disconnections - see my thread here -

      SKY HUB SR101 keeps dropping connection

      Now the line is stable but my router stats (see below) have d/s noise of 19.3

      I think I have been put on a banded profile by the DLM phase with by DL speed of 3072 (according to the router stats although speed tests put it about 2630).

      My question is - is that it now or will the speed be slowly increased automatically or do I need to raise this with anyone?

      I think you answered your own query here -
      SKY HUB SR101 keeps dropping connection

      You will never get the speed you sync at in actual download speed. Due to overheads you will loose 10-15% of the sync speed, so you are at the bottom end of that. You may be loosing some speed due to your software and if you are using wireless. Try starting a PC in Safe Mode with Networking and do a speedtest using a cabled connection, see what you get. Make sure no one else is using the connection when you try it and don't stay on the line in this mode for too long..

      That's what I meant, you have spoken to Sky who have increased your speed and put DLM on the line to train it to its best speed. You should see the router resyncing in the early hours, 2-3am, each day till the line reaches its full speed. If your line is error free you should end up with around 10Mb. If the line does not resync and increase the speed in the next 2 or 3 days, get back on to Sky.
