      lower speed after line repair

Sync was happily at 3.2Mb for over a year. We then had a line fault which knocked out voice and broadband.

After the line repair by openreach (think it was something out in the street) DLM ran for a while but has settled at 2.5Mb. Sky support will only say that its working as well as can be expected and will not investigate further or try anything else.

Unfortunately they are probably correct. Although DLM can take the noise margin down to 3db which would increase the speed, on a line as long as yours which has already had problems, it is unlikely to succeed. You may end up with less than you have if they tried.

One thing I would say is that you do not appear to be using ethernet, if you can, it will give you a more consistent speed.

As your town does not have fibre at the moment, all you can do is wait for it to be enabled.

Re: lower speed after line repair

Thanks for the reply. To me it like this:
      - My car used to do 70 mph all the time
      - The engine blew up
      - The engine was repaired
      - Now it only does 50mph all the time

      Am I missing something?
