HG612 and Sky bridge mode pppoa settings?

So after running for months on MER on my HG612 (which took me ages to get working - see Sky MER on HG612 bridge settings?

Last night Sky decide to change me over to PPPoA.

For some reason for the life of me I can't get it working on my HG612 and pfsense box.

If I connect the original sky router in it all works fine so its not a connection problem.

      On my HG612 I have:

      ATM tab:
      VPI/VCI: 0/38
      DSL link type: EoA
      Encapsulation: VCMUX

      WAN tab:

      Layer2 interface atm1/(0_0_38)
      wan connection enabled
      port binding:
      connection mode: bridged
      Bridge type: PPPOE_Bridged

Then on my pfsense I've set the wan interface to use pppoe and put in the user and password (which I captured wireshark)

But it just refuses to connect and get a IP

Anything I appear to be missing?

So after lots more reading looks like I'm screwed. Sky only support PPPoA and pfsense does not support PPPoa I need to get a Draytek Vigor which does pppoa to pppoe which I can then plug into pfsense and then it will work.

      Damn you Sky!

The Draytek Vigor is a Modem that is well recommended for Sky's ADSL network. You should be fine.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms

Thanks - I see it's been mentioned on a few threads. After a day of messing around at least I know why it doesnt work.

      Busy getting one online now.
