      LOL

They are paying for the banners, so we can fund the site, go easy on them

the full ads AOL use on here are........

      1) Over 90% of members connected within 2 weeks

      2) Speedy connection -get online fast

      3) Get connected quickly -no need to wait months

It's good to get sponsers on the site, so i don't blame AOL going for a captive market,

It's kind of ironic though as carphone warhouse have reportedly recently bought the AOl Uk business, I wonder if Sky are advertising on the carphone warehouse tech support forums. There are some clever people on advertising these days aren't there !

We gave Sky first refusal on advertising, after we were approached by AOL and before we accepted AOL.

We did not get a reply apart from one person who tried to help out

At the end of the day AOL are a huge company, and you are right, they probably saw an opportunity. We are honoured that such a high ranking company wanted to advertise on here.

We have always said from day one, that we would never ask for any money / contributions off any of our members. This is something that will never change. We have taken the opportunity to advertise products on here to subsidise the running costs of this website.

We have discussed the issue of donations, as we often get PM's asking if people can donate. As we do not want any donations from members, we have decided that we will nominate a Sky User Official Charity, more news to follow when we have nominated our chosen Charity.

This way if any members do want to donate, we do not receive any monies, as the link would go direct to the Charity's website.

Skyuser.co.uk will always be a FREE resource site for it's visitors and it's members.

We are going to ask for suggestions as far as I am aware, however this will not be until after we launch the new site, as we have got too much on our hands at the moment.
