Exchange just enabled - how long until I can order?

Does anyone know how long it typically takes after an exchange is enabled until you can order? I registered on 10th September, and just found out from Samknows that my exchange was enabled for Easynet LLU on Saturday (21st Oct). I asked Sky but they won't give any times, they just say to wait for the email. This is fine, but it would have been nice if they could tell me whether it was likely to be days, weeks or months...

      Thanks for any information.

I waited weeks and weeks to get onto the Connect Package so it might be a few weeks yet.

Ah right, I wasn't even offered Connect, I assume because Sky knew the exchange was due to be enabled soon. I've seen quite a few people on here who ordered ~2 weeks after registering but some waited much longer, it seems rather random. I've not seen anything in this forum about how long it takes to get it after an exchange has been activated though. I assumed that once Easynet have enabled the exchange then Sky can start connecting people on that exchange - but perhaps this is overly optimistic!

You will only be-able to connect to Sky's - MAX, Base, Mid pack once you have recieved your URN - Unique Reference Number!

To obtain this you need to register interest for Sky Broadband!

Once you exchange is activated you can usually get the code within a week - 3 days in my case!

I registered about 6 weeks before the exchange was enabled - did you re-register afterwards or just wait?

3 days sounds good. It's been 2 for me so far, heard nothing yet .
Of course, that's not to say I'll get it as quickly as you but it's nice to know that it's probably not months away anyway.

      Thanks for the information.

If I could give anybody 1 bit of advice with regard to signing up to Sky it would be DON'T

At least not yet, give it another 6 months to a year for all of the problems that us guinea pigs are beta testing to be resolved & then think about it.

Sky (or Easynet) simply cannot cope with the demand at present & as such it would appear to me that noone knows what is happening.

That's the advice I've given all of my friends & relatives who are Sky customers & until the service improves I'll continue to give the same advice.

That's the same advice I have given family and friends. If you are not having any trouble with your existing ISP then stay put for the time being.

If you want to have a nice little router to play with I'll send you mine after all I have absolutely no use for it at present.

I hope it goes well for you, but I really would strongly advise you to think again
