Just downgraded from fibre to ADSL

As the title says i just downgraded from fibre to broadband unlimited as i was at 26/dl and 5/ul and sky estimated me 35/dl so i was not happy. They did lots of tests but to no avail, many users on here said they think my line is faulty when looking at my stats. Well when i was on ADSL before i had fibre i was getting 10/dl and 1/ul this time around sky have estimated me 9.6/dl to 16/dl and guess what im currently sitting at 4/dl . I just phoned sky and the lady said that's very low, now i checked on my sky account and no line management was running so i asked her to start it which she said she has. On looking in my account after about an hour it still says no line management is running. Can someone here take a look at my stats and see what they think. Thanx

A downstream attenuation of 33db would usually mean you'd get around 14mbps.
With the new DLM though, i'd say 16mbps+ would be possible.

The problem is, that was always the case when you were on ADSL before yet the line could only reach 10mb, indicating an imperfection somewhere but perhaps not severe enough for sky to class as a fault.

4088/605 is the default starting point for all new connections, so that's not a problem.

If the agent at sky has started DLM, it should resync in the early hours.
If not, i'd leave it until tuesday morning before asking them again as that's when it should kick in automatically.

      I predict you'll get 10mb again.

If possible, it might be worth plugging in to the test socket now, in readiness for when DLM starts.

      It's a tricky situation.
      Ideal potential - 16mb.
      Reasonable expectation - 14mb.
      Actual - 10mb.

When you consider the costs involved with openreach callouts, age of the network & all the people around the country on far less than 10mb, personally i'd find it hard to be in 'demand mode'.

Phoning up to say "it's not perfect" could easily be met with a brick wall.
      That's where i think you're unlucky.
If whatever's wrong were to deteriorate to the point off causing dropouts etc, not only would it have to be fixed but it would probably be easy to detect too.

Well the lady told me today that 7/dl is the legal limit they must provide so we shall see what happens, at the mo still on 4/dl.

DLM makes changes overnight, mine went from 4Mbps to 7Mbps the first night. Leave the route connected to your master socket until it's finished and go from there

With you line history, the noise margin is perhaps a little too low to be sustained at.

I would expect something between the last two speeds to become your new connection speed.

Sky Fibre Unlimited Pro: Connected at 80,000 kbps / 20,000 kbps
Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB
      Speedtest: 17.15MB/s 0.97Mb/s Ping 31 ms
