I am synchronizing at 8Mbps
It hasnt passed the 10 day training period but I am only getting 0.6Mbps downstream on the online tests??
I know I can get more because I have has BT 2.2Mbps (it was MAX DSL) however now I am only getting 0.6Mbps
I went to sky to get better speed so why arent I?
I know that it takes 10 day training period for this thing to settle down and stop cutting out but surely it shouldnt be as low as 0.6Mbps even during the training period?
I do have the router plugged into the master BT phone socket
The first 3 days the router wouldn't connect, I kept getting chap auth failure, which anyone technical will know what it means anyhow will not being online for the first 3 to 4 days of the 10 day training period make things slightly worse?
any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming you're on Connect(?) - that's how it goes sometimes. Hopefully your speeds will pick up soon.
The days you're not connected won't count towards the 10 day training.

I am on connect, think its a bit shocking how "thats how it goes" when BT get me a 2.0Mbps + on speed tests and sky cant even get me more than 512k
bit of a let down, hopefully it will pick up
will the SNR remain the same at all times? or will that pick up during the training period?

Check out the thread "Everything you'd want to know about ADSL Max" in the tech forum for more info on why "that's how it goes" sometimes.
Noise varies through the day so SNR (or noise margin as reported by the router) will too. Its relationship is with your physical line characteristics and environmental factors and is not influenced by the training period.

testing it out this morning I am getting 5.2Mbps on the speed tests, which I personally think is great, maybe it was just bad goings on last night, or it could be down to the fact the training is working

I was i a similar position and low and behold after the 10th day my connections sorted itself out and Im a happy bunny.
The message for newbies (including myself) would be read the MAX DSL FAQ and understand it and then wait for your training period to end before moaning, moaning and Moaning.
