      There is room for improvement still and looking at those stats, the connection was reset during the night.

      Do not worry for now, it is still working just fine.

      Previous ADSL2+ Speed 19999 kbps 1153 kbps, Line Attenuation 17.5 db 6.9 db, Noise Margin 7.5 dB 8.7 dB

      Been away since last weekend. Just got back today and here are the stats below. Seems to have stayed at 7mbps as no resets for last few days. According to Sky website, line testing began 20/8/13. Thought I might be getting more than that seeing that the 10 day learning period seems to have gone? Any opinions?

      It certainly looks like your line could support more and with an attenuation of 31.5db, it should. Although your noise margin looks not too bad, it is possible you are getting noise spikes on the line, keeping your speed down. Download and run Routerstats Lite for a couple of days to see how your Noise Margin is behaving.

      OK, so I have run Routerstats Lite for over 24 hours. Seems to be have been basically constant at approx 8db in daytime. No massive spikes anywhere (see graph) ! Went down a bit in the evening last night (approx 4-5db) but remained constant once there. From research, this drop seems normal in an evening. So do you think my line could attain a better connection speed? If so, who do I contact at Sky and what is the best thing to say? Joined Sky Broadband Yesterday - Poor Speed !-noise.jpg

      DLM can get stuck, so it might be worth giving Sky a call. If you can wait until 10 days have passed, then you're less likely to be fobbed off about waiting for DLM training. Think my own connection got stuck at 6Mbps before I called up and got them to re-start DLM.

      It took me some time to get it working with the sr101 on the latest non beta version of RouterStats Lite, but it does work. What I did was:


      Open RouterStats Lite and click 'Setup Tab'
      Router: User Defined
      URL: http://192.168.0.1/sky_system.html
      Login: Tick box (router requires you to login) and then username: admin and password: sky
      Click Define Stats Tab, then 'get source'. In Noise Margin (db) box on right, type Noise Margin in unique text box. In Adjacent Text box, type </th><td> In Connection Speed Box (kbps), type Connection Speed in Unique Text Box. In Adjacent Text Box, type </th><td>

      You should then be working.
