      Re: new adsl connection

It looks like the socket has been incorrectly wired or it is not the master socket*. If you are sure this is the master socket, removed the next plate and check if there are wires connected to the A-B terminals on the back of it. If they are not, that is the problem. You should locate the 2 incoming wires and fix them to the AB terminals, it looks like they have been attached to the faceplate.

*When there is already a master socket in the circuit, the common practise is to wire any other NTE5 direct to the faceplate to avoid having double capacitors.

Do you get dial-tone in the test socket with the lower faceplate removed?

Do you get dial-tone connecting to the faceplate with it removed?

If it's wired correctly the phone should work when connected Directly to that socket and should not work in the faceplate when it's removed.

Was there any noticeable noise on the line

Try 17070, it's option 2 on a BT line for quiet line test, I think it's the same for sky but it might be worth listening to the options.

If the lines been moved onto skys fully unbundled network you'll get zoe

      Have you got another router?

It probably wont log onto sky but it would be interesting to see if it can keep Sync for more than 10seconds.

      Re: new adsl connection

Lots of things, have you tried new filters?

If the line is crackle free on voice and it doesn't work with a plugin filter in the test socket and you've tried another modem/filter then the problem is likely either the line itself or Skys exchange equipment
