An interesting quote from that page you've linked to on Wikipedia:

Hence why it's almost impossible to get any sizable chunk of Ipv4 Space thesedays.... Actually wonder if Sky get's a load of IP space from o2 as a result of buying o2 broadband.

To be fair, I had expected O2 to hand over the IPv4 blocks which their broadband customers have been using.

If that's the case one does start to wonder if Sky are buying the O2 broadband base for the customers, the network or simply to get additional IPv4 space

It is hard to gauge this one really.

Obviously one less competitor would be nice for Sky. In most cases Sky already have their own kit in the same exchanges as O2/Be have theirs.

It is more likely that they will gain extra bandwidth in areas which are becoming overloaded.

Sorry, we drifted a little there.

Essentially addresses such as 94.10.xxx.xxx are 'IPv4' addresses. There is a finite number of these available. There allocation has run out and ISPs are either moving to the new agreed standard (IPv6) or buying up blocks of addresses from where ever they can.

IPv4 address exhaustion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are plenty of old news stories on the topic too.

Since Sky are buying the Broadband customers from O2/Be, they will have access to many more addresses that they do at present.
