Sky Connect to Base,Mid,Max or dial up?

well following on from my previous post Sky Connect and speed drops during peak hours (sky connect slow in the evenings)

all this week in the evenings it has been working much better getting around 1.5mb in the evenings so much better than 20kbps

now as im on Connect, i have just found out my exchange is now easynet enabled for adsl+2 so the question after weeks of fustration with poor speed, it seems my connect is performing much better

has anyone migrated from connect to base/mid or max if so was there any issues with the process, i dont want to go through the whole experience again, but it will mean if i transfer to the mid package then i will be saving 12 p/m which is good. But i guess the saving could mean more hassle!

      Hi there,

I'm in the same situation as you, I was on the connect product and having trouble with download speeds after about 5pm and at weekends, all of a sudden I'm getting the full 8 meg connection at all times including eve and weekends, not sure whats changed? Certainly not complaining!

My exchange was enabled a while ago, I seem to remember Sky saying that they will atuomatically place you on the mid package when it's available in your area? This def didn't happen with me.

I called last weekend to upgrade my connection to the max package, the guy checked my number and confirmed I was in an enabled area, put me on hold for ages (Obviously still early days so upgrade requests must be few and far between) Anyway he came back and confirmed it was ok to do and should take about 24 hours to run through the system.

Nothing has happened since though, still connecting at 8124 down and 448 up although as I mentioned my speed has increased so I now get the full 8 meg. I was thinking maybe they have upgraded me but not changed my profile to a 16 meg one so got onto the phone to them again.

The guy I sopke to the second time obviously had no idea what I was going on about and put me on hold for ages only to come back to say I should receive a letter with a unique ref number which I then need to call tham back with to upgrade my package???

Doesn't really make alot of sense! Anyway, still waiting for the letter and my connection is still exactly the same.

I'll give them to the weekend....
