      Its Been Fun

Well today I finally say goodbye to sky broadband and sky talk. I'm jumping to plusnet fibre today.

My phoneline and broadband are now dead so a long wait until my engineer turns up this afternoon.

I thought they were supposed to call before removing the line or is this Sky being too over efficient??

Isn't it Openreach who do all the work?

Anyway I'm guessing that PlusNet have ordered a simultaneous provide for both voice and broadband.

So presumably that's all done at the exchange by disconnecting your line from Sky's LLU equipment and re-connecting your line to PlusNet's gear, no need for anyone to come to the house or do anything at the cabinet.

Hopefully not much delay between the two events!

In the interest of collecting research for an article I'm planning to write on this subject (for the re-launch of my blog), I'd be keen to hear how the whole experience goes for you.

Good luck - I hope BTO turn-up today for you.

I jumped-ship last week to Plusnet but, will change-over to "Fibre" in a month or two.

I really did not want to be without any internet in the event of things going wrong; reading some of the horror-stories I am glad I took the safe route!

      Re: Its Been Fun

NWLondoner when i moved to PN in Jan., my line was disconnected by the OR engineer, early in the morning engineer turned up at my front door, approx 30 mins later and set up my PN Fibre, ( i booked a morning appointment), and since then i couldnt be happier, after initial issues due to issues at my exchange i receive a constant speed of 50 mbps down, and 16mbps up, good luck with your install today

      Re: Its Been Fun

I jumped ship late last year and have no regrets.
BTOR are snowed under ATM and missed appointments are not uncommon. Do not phone in to PN if this happens. Go to their forums where one of the Digital Care team will take ownership of your case and stick with it until it is sorted out to your satisfaction.
