Increase in speed on sky unlimited

In Gosport and I have noticed the openreach team spending quite a lot of work around the town and have dug recently on the corner of my road and put in a new underground box with a large manhole, assume thats for fibre, which arrives in Gosport end of March.
Im on sky 20mb unlimited and have consistently got 14.6mb without any issues.
But noticed for last week Im now getting 16/17mb.
Is this part of fibre work they are doing and does that help the normal speeds also?
      The increase is welcome.

Very unlikely, in fact the opposite is more often the case. What may be happening is that DLM training is being rerun on your line. DLM now uses new parameters to determine the best speed for the line, this has resulted in everyone with a good line getting a speed increase. Check the broadband details on your MySky page and see if there is mention of DLM being run on your line.

Ah that's it, see below, shame they could not have sent an email to tell us.
I have today spoken with my neighbours and we have all had the increase.

Line connection testing completed on 01/02/2013, resulting in the following settings:
      Download speed setting
Your connection has been set to a download speed of up to 19.0Mbps.

That is a common complaint. If a user is in the habit of switching their router off at night, and many are, they would be unlikely to benefit.
